Interview with Marina Mattera

We are going to interview Marina Mattera, teacher in UEM in the subject Business Administration in Englis.

Marina studied in Argentina, Spain and USA. She licenced in ADE and she worked in different countries and companies like: UEM, ABN ABNAMRO bank…

        Wow maths evaluate in the companies in your opinion?

It evaluated a lot because now is everything is automatize and any type of information any systems have a lot of maths.

Did you use all knowledge that you learn in your life?

I used all except derivates and integrals.

 In your opinion, a good knowledge in maths before the crisis could avoid it?

Yes, but is was more important people had been prudence in their investments and no overspending.

 What differences are between the professional maths that you use in our professional life and maths in the career? Why have we change our way to learn maths?

In my opinion the way that I learnt maths, it was not applied to real life events, is better to orientated to real events. We didn´t change to much, so we have to continue working.

Is different the useful between USA and Spain in the finance maths?

Yes, in USA normally when you learn maths is more focus on the applicability on the learn and in the same time people are talking a lot in financial maths applicate to professional life.
